各位前辈
小弟想到国外读博，本硕的研究方向是地球物理，目前个人对地震属性提取方法感兴趣，想进行这方面的研究。不过由于对这一领域缺乏了解，想听听各位前辈对地震属性提取方法这一领域发展前景的认识？不知道该领域是否值得一探。

Let me put it as gently as I can. Oil companies don't keep this type of specialists in house. They outsource the tasks to service vendors.

地震属性种类已经很多了，提取的算法也在不断的发展，追求更有地质意义的方法。无论是叠前还是叠后的地震属性，都希望能够定量化的解释构造、解释沉积环境、解释储层性质、或是直接烃监测。

I know oil companies do not conduct such work by themselves, but you think such methods could be used widely in energy exploration, don't you?
In my opinion, precious seismic attribute can indicate location of oil or gas, so research on this field has great potential in the furture. That's my understanding as a layman of seismic interpretation, so please tell me if there is any misunderstanding.
