昨天跟合伙人讨论，公司准备把目前所做的所有偏移、正演程序的cpu版本免费给中国的石油公司使用。软件包括非对称走时kirchoff时间偏移、波前面重构kirchhoff深度偏移、有限差分波动方程深度偏移、逆时偏移、波动方程正演程序。
从光明磊落的角度说，我是油田子弟，拿出这些，算是回报生我养我的中国石油工业。对我2个合伙人来说，刘洪研究员回报国家多年给的科研支撑，刘钦则做了一件中国人多少年想做的事情。至少让油田现有的集群上，可以跑起我们自己的东西。
从小人之心来说，cpu版本的偏移软件，比起高效率的gpu软件，工业价值已经不复存在。给出cpu版本，也是为我们的gpu版本软做广告。最近解决几个法律问题后，就可以把这些软件给大家用了：）

这个跟中国人没多大关系。linux还是open source的呢，可是linux的爸爸并不是中国人。

That is what I suspect. However, binary (executables) are still black box. It is a free tool but can't be a teaching tool. I don't like "black box" approach Therfore I went ahead and released the Humble simulator source code. But, I did take out the docuementation, therefore those who do not take time and effort to study the code will have no use. So it will prevent anyone taking 源程序去骗国家银子. If they take the time, it will not take too much effort to figure out the input parameters and the format. If they do that, I have no problem that they take 源程序去骗国家银子.

But I do hope few chinese students take this code and becoming a true simulation scientist. If it eliminates a single button-clicker or non-scientist engineer, it serves its purpose.

It is not FREE. The costs are your time and effort. It does not come with user manual and I will not answer any request regarding the usage. That said, anyone spending a day to browse thru the code and study the "READ" & "FORMAT" statements and basic understanding of black oil simulation should have no trouble figuring out the input requirement. G30 should be easily ported to any OS. Anyone with a FORTRAN compiler should have no problem compiling the program. I used very plain Fortran statements except OPEN that is compiler specfic. G30 version was compiled with Intel. My commercial version compiled with Portland Group FORTRAN for Multi-Processor (MP) because the solver really flies in MP environment.

Anyway, my goal is to put the spot light on the nuts and bolts of simulation, like taking care the initialization, instead of how to feed the blackbox approach.

The simulator was the child of EARL SWIFT and CHARLES STEWART. I'm just the mid-wife. It already helped my two kids thru college and I hope it can benefit few future simulation students.

If someone makes some money with this simulator, that is his/her decision, I don't need to share his/her profit. But I do hope people retain the credit for EARL SWIFT and CHARLES STEWART.

Flexlm, I did a search last night. I'm a tad shock of the china policy. I also read this news http://abcnews.go.co...ory?id=10803809

If that is true, I would not release any source code if I were in your position. BTW, do you know what happen to TGNET (another SSI flagship simlator) in China?

是否考虑过会有多少人愿意用？另外我现在在做一个GPU的开发平台，留下一个GPU的接口，输入输出固定，只要将算法加在接口处就能用GPU实现超线程，这样虽然计算效率低，但是移植简单。届时我也会提供程序，但是是源码。希望更近一步推动GPU的普及。

From personal footnote, in 1997, I was instructed to investigate a possible exploration venture in china. I expected some under the table dealing but did not expect the magnitude. I told the company to write off china and the company invested the money in other country.

恕我直言，您现在说的技术路线，其实就是一坨子狗屎。这已经很客气了
nv提供了一堆sample，包括石油界的sample，接口，人家早就提供了。
我有资格说任何人，因为，目前，中国工业界，能够生产的偏移程序，最好的是我写的
用户说了算，大家可以看看已经有点用户对我产品评价就是。
