小弟是这个专业的硕士，而且工作有余年了。国内的海洋工程技术含量底，没有任何发展。难道搞这个专业真的没有出路吗？请各位过来人或学长赐教。

另外，小弟决定去新加坡工作学习，可是苦于没有任何门路，如果这里有在新加坡工作生活的同仁，能给我些指引吗？万分感谢。

据说外高桥船厂在为中海油建造半潜式平台。中海油的海油工程和702所，很多在研究深水问题吧。

楼主太过悲观了~如今的中国海洋石油工程技术进步还是挺快的~像以中国是没有能力自行建造FPSO的~但是就像“海洋石油112”就是我们自己设计的~进步还是很明显的！我觉得以后还是有很大的发展的~不过具体的情况我不是很了解~只是一点自己的看法~

Gee, I checked my feet, they are still visible. I checked the mirror, I still see my reflection. although I'm old and ready for old folk retirement community, i'm not ready for being a 鬼子.

BTW, I'm in 深水 not because it is 香 (I don't even know my professional gives out smell, no wonder my wife keeps telling me to take more bath). I'm in deepwater because it is fun and the daily operations are interesting and unconversional.

Several years back, I was working on a deepwater concept design software. I had two young chinese software engineers in my team. They just graduated from "bull" colleges. I hate to say it but their attitude are not what I expected. Their talent were not utlized to their full potential. I concluded that it might be the culture differences because I approached them like they were new hired from US. I promised myself to re-educate myself to avoid making the same mistake twice.

My goal in this forum is not aim at 发展中国海油石油事业. I believe it will take care itself if their workers have the right attitude. My goal is keeping myself in touch with the "young" folk no matter where he/she came from.

Also, several forum admins are personal friends and ex-ConocoPhillip colleagues. They help me understanding posts from some forum members and their behaviour. This forum also let me trying out new approach in debating with young chinese professionals and "future" professionals.

Let me use my own kids as example. when they were in high school, the teachs put them thru a lot of competitions, like history fair, sciense olympic. For example, my youngest kid had a project to build a musical instruement. As usual, he did his own research to select the instruement he wanted to build, purchased the materials and built it himself with his partner. My wife was afraid that the kids may get hurted using the power tools, so she wanted me to build it for them. Well my kid got mad because he think it is an insult that we don't trust his ability. He scraped the pipe organ that I helped cutting the pipes and built a much more complicate instruement, marimba by himself. As his teacher said, when dealing with top students, a handoff approach is much better than helicopter aproach.

Well, many US kids have the same attitude. They rather make their own mistakes and learn from them. Therefore as a mentor/team leader, we understand that and when we assign projects, we just outline the goals/deliverables/dateline and let the members come up their solution.

Now, I told my side, it will help me if you tell yours. What do you expect when you receive an assignment.

呵呵，你说的这个在中文叫“主观能动性”。是的，中国的孩子由于国家和社会的原因，大多数不具备这种素质。但是，对于那些有主观能动性的孩子来说，生在中国真的很可悲，没有前途，甚至被理解为疯子。

正如你所说，企业要求职员具有一定的主观能动性。在中国的外企，还是能体现到的。但在中国的国企，你就不可以。就是你能，都要装聋作哑，老实本分，才能保自己太平。Ytlee，你明白我的意思吗？

对于我来说，我觉得我有这种能力，但是，特别是在海洋工程这个行业，我的确在国内难有发挥的余地（今年国内项目很少）。没有人给我支点，巧妇难为无米之炊。

很羡慕你，机会多，选择也多。
