He is a super-nice person, but it seems he does not release his students for graduation in quick. Since he just arrived here 2 or 3 yrs ago, only few students defended in my knowledge, and no one has found a job yet (especially under the current ecnonmy). Anyway, A&M is a great place for PE, a good option for sure!

some updates:
Two chinese students(1MS and 1PhD) from his group, who graduated recently, found positions in SLB.
And this summer, 3 students got internships in petroleum industry.
Currently, he pushes us to get graduated around 2yrs for MS and 4yrs for PhD.
However, he has his own requirements for the graduation, which means it is not easy to obtain your diploma without any outstanding research work. And this is common for all the research group in US.
Useful info.:
He is still looking for potential candidates for Ph.D. or post-docs who have very strong experience with FEM or BEM modeling of fracture or experiments for rock deformation. He has plenty of projects and funding is not a problem for his students. If you are interested, please feel free to contact him at ahmad.ghassemi@pe.tamu.edu
