请教一下,在计算Self submerged weight的时候,为什么要分Lower Bound和Upper Bound啊?
这两种情况下分别是如何计算的?
算Self submerged weight就是为了最终算Vertical holding capacity,如果您知道如何算Vertical holding capacity也好。

Due to uncertaintes in friction between soil and caisson wall during installation, upper bound and lower bound of this friction are usually used for estimating the real installation scenario (suction force vs. caisson penetration). The holding capacity of suction caisson is a different story. It's not hard to calculate the pure vertical capacity. However, for inclined loading, there is not yet a perfect analytical method. NGI uses their in-house finite element software to do it. Murff etc. (OTRC) developed an upper bound limit solution that is the best analytical method so far. However, Murff etc. solution is not easy for engineers, even geotechnical engieers, to understand.
