Stanford Univ. has three strong labs: a)SEP(Jon Claerbout, Biondi Biondo) geophysics, e.g. migration and imaging; b)SRP( Amos Nur, Gary Mavko) Rock physics; c) SWP (Jerry Harris) tomography
Colorado School of Mines (CSM): CWP (Dave Hale, Ken Larner, Norm Bleistein, Ilya Tsvankin) migration, anisotropy, imaging, etc
Univ. of Houston: AGL (Kurt Marfut, Fred Hilterman, John Castagna) seismic attributes, AVO, migration, DHI, etc
Univ. of Utah: UTAM (Gerard Schuster) tomography,migration and modeling
Univ. of Texas, Dallas: CLS(George McMechan) migration, modeling,AVO, wavelet, GPR, etc
Univ. of California, Santa Cruz: (Rushan Wu) migration, modeling
Univ. of Texas, Austin: UTIG (Paul Stoffa) imaging
Rice Univ.: Inversion project
MIT: ERL(Nafi Toksoz) geophysics
