塔里木大学不错。校友很包团，校友们很牛哇。

TAMU 中的A&M 代表Agriculture and Mechanical, 就是农业和工程。再加上颇有一些名气的军事学院，TAMU被我们戏称为“德州工农兵大学”。由于一开始就以农业和工程为重点，Agricultural engineering专业在全美排名第一也不奇怪。据说美国军队里的中级军官，相当一部分来自TAMU。

这所学校保留了一些很是有意思的传统。比如橄榄球比赛每个大学都是用女孩子做啦啦队（cheerleader），TAMU用的却是男生，叫做yell- leader，每年yell-leader的选举很是热闹，yell-leader们也几乎是学校里最出风头的人物。因为这个学校的传统和保守，所以每年有很多有钱人把孩子送到这里来。

这里坐校车的时候，男生都会把坐位让给女生坐。还有，走在校园里，迎面走来的人大都会热情的跟你打招呼:“Howdy!”这是德州人特有的打招呼方式，乡土而亲切！

The best about TAMU is the Alumni. There are a lot of aggies in the oilfield, many are well established. They are the most helpful people in the world.

听朋友讲，美国石油公司中塔里木大学毕业的人当官的最多，可能是人家的校友综合素质比别的校友高吧？也听说塔里木大学的校旗在休士吨很多市区到处飘扬，校友为母校自豪。很让人羡慕呀。

Here is an aggie joke regarding aggies in oilfield.

How to call an aggie ................... "Boss"

I believe the reasons for aggies success in the oilfield are

1. well rounded education, good mix of practical and theoretical teaching.
2. most aggies are from blue collar families who believe hardworks and education. They don't have the "entitlement" mentality.
3. main campus is in a small town, avoiding the big city issues UH & UT have.
4. the aggies are sticking together, helping each other to their full potential.
5. aggies are proud of their school.


BTW, aggie joke is also a big TAMU tradition.

Are there any Chinese Aggies here? why are your guy heads down? you guys should be proud of your school and speak out now to Sooners, Standforders, Tigers, Wronghorns(oops! Longhorns) - we will be your BOSS soon. Or they keep joking on Aggies. Here is one possibly from Sooners....
