I'm suprised that there was very little discussion regard to the selection of topside and subsea. Understanding the criteria to select a FPSO, TLp or SPAR, no doubt will have a huge impact on your bottomline and may determine the fate of your project. To kick off this workshop, I like to propose a thread. Selection criteria of subsea structure.

AS you know, the operating environment is very different in different region of he world. For example, The North Sea is more harsh than SE Asia. There is no one solution that fits every region. In general, OGM divides the world into

I'm not "专家". I'm a reservoir engineer by trade. I'm more comfortable with black oil simulator or seismic data visualization. I bumped into that job when the oil maket crashed. I left when the RE market recovered. Anyway, I still have contact with the company and did couple contract jobs last year. I will pitch in if I can help but will stop if I'm running the risk of exposing their trade secrets. I'm still under NDA.

我觉得ytlee前辈的提议很好，是个很有意思的方向。

另外他也指出了一个重要的问题，就是认识上的前瞻性和一定的技术积累。他提出的项目提议就跟他对其领域的深刻认识有关。

我也有一些建议:

1. 初期控制project的大小，可以选择一些较小的、难度较低的projects。因为通过workshop的形式远程合作开发对很多人还比较新，项目管理上有挑战。参与的人员需要磨合一下，也需要一些success激励。

2. 程序是技术的表达方式，不要把精力完全放在程序。建议在项目中多针对相关技术背景进行讨论，以期激励出创新点，并保证参与者都在同一个page上。这些讨论也可以在项目完成后整理成简易的文档。

我对本版很感兴趣，也用过wamit，做过初步的前后处理，自己也编过一些前后处理的fortran程序，希望能够成为认证会员。最近一直在外学习上网也不时很方便，希望斑竹给与考虑，呵呵！

最近相对比较忙。现在有点时间，再谈谈自己对这个"海洋工作室“的一点体会和设想。
经过一段时间，从大家的回帖看。对这个想法感兴趣的同仁还是很多的，基本认同这是一个好的idea。但是，直到现在工作室里也只有俺提供的几个程序/设想在那里凉着。让俺真正体会老中牛人很多，但协作（team work, contribution）精神实在是不行啊。期待更多有兴趣的朋友实际参与进来。积累多了，大家都会有所获的。以后大家还可以就各种开发程序和项目聚一起（或视频）讨论交流。一月份搬了家，地方会大一些。条件成熟的话，俺会召集类似活动。谢谢大家支持。
